Discography
The Kid E.P.
Released January 2006
This E.P. was produced for my mother's birthday present. The album was
recorded at my home studio and mixed by producer Jim Barnes at brown
town studios. The song deals with a child's endless day dreaming, a
problem I struggled with in my early days of school.
Inaugural Address E.P.
Released July 2006
This E.P. was released under Inside 55 and was written and released in honor
of our fighting men and women abroad. You can listen to the single and read
more about by

Show & Tell
Released September 2005
Show & Tell follows a good 3 to 4 years of my life in college and early
marriage. The album took years to record on my roland 8 track and even more
years to bounce the 40 to 60 virtual tracks down to get the mix. In the days
before pro tools I have to admit I was proud of this album because I
literally did it all myself on some very primitive equipment. It
sounds GOOD for the gear i was using, yep I'm quite proud of it!
You Are Good Chris Layton Band
Released Fall 2005
Produced by Jim Barnes, recorded in Hattiesburg, I had to opportunity to
record 3 albums during my run with the Chris Layton Band, although Chris is
now off the road we do occasionally get together for a weekend gig now and
then. This was the last album we recorded together and I had the chance to
lay all of the keys and winds on this one. It was a great album and we are
all proud of it.
Audience Of One
Released Spring 2002
Recorded this one in the dorm room, IN THE DORM ROOM!
Crappy mics and instruments BUT some of my favorite songs. This album was
very important to me and I spent a lot of hours writing this one. It goes
without saying that your first major project is always a lesson learner, I
learned a lot of lessons on this one! Recorded almost entirely mono, it's a
real bad sounding album. The major problem was the overly compressed master
but that's a story for another time.

Nat's Song E.P.
Released 1999
Wrote this song sort of as a bitter sweet goodbye to New Albany and my
friends there, one of who happened to be Natalie McMillan.
Steve Thomas
Released 2000
Within the first month of early rehearsals with the start of what would
soon become the Chris Layton Band (even before Daniel joined) Steve Thomas
approached Chris needing a studio band to quickly ( in one day) record his
album. We rehearsed the music on Thursday and recorded the album Friday
morning.
First Priority
Released 2001
First priority in Hattiesburg funded the first Chris Layton Band album
in the summer of 2001. We left our first summer of GBA and headed directly
to the studio to lay down the tracks we had played live all summer long. Two
days later and you have first priority. Ask any one of us what we think of
this CD and you'll get and interesting reaction, we were young, young,
young!
Evening With You E.P.
Released 2001
Another single released for Jenn's 2001 birthday, An Evening With You's
tracks were being recorded for Audience of One and i wanted to give her a
copy, so I ran a small run of these E.P.s
Storm E.P.
Released 2001
I wrote this single for my little cousin, Sara Beth, and did a small
release of about 20 copies. The song would later find it's way onto the
Audience of One Album.
Chris Layton Band "Live"
Released 2002
Recorded at once loved Gulfshores Baptist Assembly
